LAURIE NEWMAN
Hi! Welcome to Café 301. My name is Laurie Newman, and I am the founder/owner/president of Café 301, LLC. Born and raised in Lancaster, PA. I’ve learned how to cook in my early teens watching my aunt and helping her in the kitchen. I've been told many times that I have gifted hands for creating favorable, unique, and exciting dishes. I love everything about food, the smell, texture, presentation, taste. Mostly I love creating and bringing others together to share their love and enjoy my cooking. After years of unbelief, I started Laurie’s 717 Catering business in the summer of 2016. My career blossomed here in Columbia where she wowed her customers with her loving and warm personality, hardworking skills, exceptional soul food dishes, and passion for food as well as service. Always, longing to serve the community with our southern style soul food dishes. It was my passion to bring a community together surrounded around the table using food, soul food. Chef Laurie is passionate about giving you fresh scratch made cooking as well as giving you the benefits of flavor, quality and freshness to your table. I can’t help but give God All the Glory for giving me the courage to take steps to launch my catering business and now Café 301! Cooking is my God-given gift, and I love creating great food with my hands.
